Bible Verse about Love

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,but do not have love, I gain nothing.”

We say we are true Christian’s, but do we have love? Everyone should ask this question to yourself… Are we the same like the people who kill, curse and live in hatred and enmity? There are many people who live like the chameleon and change colors according to people, place and possession. We Christians should never ever live a life like that.

In the Bible, we read in many places about the importance of love. Jesus came into this world and suffered because He loved us. If you really love, you will never expect anything in return; If you truly love, you will forgive; If you really love, you will never hurt others with your words; You will never keep records of wrong-doing; You will never be self-seeking;

Though you may speak in tongues, though you may have the gift of prophecy, though you may be knowledgeable, though you may have faith, if love is not within you then you are nothing. Without love, you can never gain anything completely. Show your true love and you will be really satisfied in each and everything you do. For sure, all people whom you show your love may not be the same but, you never give up love for that reason.

Remember God’s command “Love the Lord with all your heart and soul; Love your neighbor as yourself”.

  1. I am trying with all I have to love everyone I come in contact with as I am doing it for my saviour.It is difficult . I came from a time where people were prejudiced. I am glad to say I have conquered that with God’s help. PRAISE REPORT! I have had so many miracles and blessings this past week( and always ) that I am overwhelmed and have trouble even speaking of them without tearing up. I have a dear friend who has been there with me through them and my very dear sister . My real sister by blood and by the grace of God.God is Good people…listen to those words. It’s a fact! Please believe me that it is well worth loving your Lord who loved us enough to die for us.
    Thank you for your time!

  2. When someone does something for you and its not fro a pure heart; you can feel it; and neither do you feel good about something you do for someone and you did not do it whole heartedly. LOVE matters everytime to anyone.

  3. Thanks for the words of exhortation. Your piece on love has really touched me as I found it very difficult to forgive and love those who hate me naturally. I do need more of this most particularly how to take a step to begin to show love even though I’m being hated.

    May God bless you eternally.

  4. Hi Ms. Michelle, we read Mark 6 & 7 tonight. In Mark 6 our faritove verses were 41- 44 and we learned that you need to believe and bless the food. In Mark 7 my faritove verse was 37 and I learned that Jeus does everything well and God does amazing things.
