Bible Verses about Character

Bible Verse of the Day 16th September

Proverbs 26:14

“As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed.”

Message:

Sometimes, as the Bible verse says, we too like to sleep when we have fixed appointments with someone; when we have to be on time in office; when things has to be done on the right time etc. We do not realize how important it is to postpone our laziness instead of postponing our tasks. Do you know that God hates lazy people, who blame others for their current status? Put your laziness into sleep and practice time management in your daily life. You will then be stress free and will have ample time to do more tasks. Remember, your future is in your hands. So learn to set a target and then if you have really done your part, ask God’s help to achieve it.

Bible Verse of the Day 25th August

Matthew 5:48

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Message:

You may not be perfect in all what you do, but that’s not a huge problem. You can defeat imperfection, when you get yourself involved and do things with complete determination and interest. You will then notice that everything you do results in perfection. Never give a chance for anyone to find fault in you and give a negative feedback always. Correcting yourself and being perfect is much appreciated when compared to being hurt by someone everyday. Our God is perfect, so let us also try to be perfect like Him.

Bible Verse of the Day 20th August

1 Peter 3:3-4

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Message:

As we give importance to our outward beauty and good appearance, so as we should also look into our spirit and give importance on how to make it look beautiful. We all know that people look at our outward appearances but only God looks into our hearts. Do you know that your spirit is of great worth in God’s sight? By the way, how does one keep his/her heart clean? It is through keeping pureness in the words you speak, in the thoughts you think, the things you see, the things you hear, asking forgiveness for your sins and forgiving others as well. Automatically your spirit will become real beautiful and God will really be happy.

Bible Verse of the Day 15th August

Luke 6:43-45

“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

Message:

As a tree is judged by its fruits, so as a person is recognized through his/her actions. If you do good, you become the good chap. If you do evil, you are the bad chap. So whatever character you possess now, is nothing but, what you have actually stored up in your heart. Clean your heart, mind and always keep them occupied with good things.

Bible Verse of the Day 13th August

Ephesians 4:28

“Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.”

Message:

Everyone does not have the habit of stealing. But stealing has different forms like showing false accounts, when you take something which belongs to somebody else without their permission, stealing someone else’s ideas etc. When you deeply look over, the root cause for stealing is jealously.

When you don’t have something or when you are jealous on somebody’s wealth or growth, you steal. You may think it is just a small thing, but it is a huge loss for someone else. Remember, such type of attitude is not good. God has given you the strength to work and get benefited through your own hands. So, if you have that attitude, immediately quit and move away from it. God wants you to be clean-living.

Bible Verse of the Day 4th August

Romans 14:8

“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”

Message:

According to this verse, every Christian must follow this principle. Just by feeling proud by saying, “I am a Christian” does not prove anything. Instead, we have to live our lives according to God’s commands. Bible has many principles that God wants everyone of us to follow. So whatever deed you do, do it with a happy heart and think that you are doing it for God.

Bible Verse of the Day 25th July

Ephesians 4:29

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Message:

Avoid offensive words from your mouth, at times of anger, depression, loss or any type of emotion it may be. Always watch out your words, because they bring both joy and grief to yourself and others. It’s a known fact that, words once spilt out cannot be taken back. So, use words which could really help others to grow and get benefited.

Bible Verse of the Day 11th July

Romans 12:17

“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.”

Message:

Doing good to someone who have done good things to you is a great deed. But, doing good to those who have done evil to you is the greatest deed. Normally during times like that, we get angry and we will find for situations to take revenge on them. But that is not God wants us to do. Always think that God’s love is within you and do good to all people with love.
